Swim Season Nominated for InD'tale Magazine's Annual RONE Award!
I'm proud to announce that Swim Season, my YA novel released in October, 2016, was nominated for a RONE Award!
The prestigious RONE (Reward Of Novel Excellence) Award honors the very best books in the Indie
and small publishing industry. Achieving this award is no easy feat, with three distinct hurdles to clear.
First hurdle: Your book must
be read and reviewed by the magazine's professional staff of reviewers and awarded a 4 out of 5 star rating to qualify as a nominee. Swim Season was awarded 4 stars. You can read the review here.
Second hurdle: In order to move on in the competition, all books rated 4 stars are voted on by the reading public (the 5 star books advance automatically.) The books with the highest number of public votes will move on to
become finalists. So, this is where you come in.I need your vote! But it's a win-win: You can help me to advance and at the same time discover a terrific, professionally produced digital readers' magazine, for FREE. You'll love it. So let's get started! (If you're already into the magazine you can skip steps one and two and go on to step three.)
Step one: To maintain honesty and fairness in the voting process, only registered subscriber's on the InD'Tale website are allowed to vote, so please visit the website and become a subscriber. This includes creating an account, which means handing over your name and email address. Trust me, if you love books and reading that's a small price to pay for this beautiful magazine. Registering
is completely FREE and does not require any commitments whatsoever. (And the folks over at InD'Tale promise to keep your personal information under lock and key, and not sell, rent, or give it to anyone.)
Step two: Once you're
registered, check your email. In order to vote, you must confirm your subscription by clicking a
verification link they'll send to you.
Now, on to step three, the voting part. (Voting in this category begins May 1st and ends May 7th.) Here's what to do: Log in to your account, then go to IND'SCRIBE/RONES, then 2017 RONE AWARDS, then 2017 RONE AWARDS WEEK THREE. This brings you to Week 3 of voting and the following categories:
YA: General, my category
Click on YA: General, scroll through the books, findSwim Season, and cast your vote. You're done!
And thanks a million for going through all of this with me. I know it's a time-consuming process, and I appreciate your dedication.
This brings us to the third (and last) hurdle in determining the winners: The finalists in each round will be read and judged by
a group of industry professionals - editors, writers, professors etc. - and judged on a 1 to 5 scale
from a specific list of requirements such as characterization, overall
arc, editing etc. Those scores will then be tallied by a professional
company unrelated to InD’tale or its employees to determine the winner
of the coveted RONE Award, along with the honorable mentions. The awards will be announced at the annual RONEAward gala event and
ceremony, and the winner will be given the beautiful Crystal RONE Award.
