Cover Reveal! Next Door To A Star, New YA Romance by Krysten Lindsay Hager

I am extremely excited to reveal the cover of
by fellow Clean Indie Reads author
Krysten Lindsay Hager!
This Young Adult Romance releases September 1st!

by Krysten Lindsay Hager
Genre: Young Adult Romance

Hadley Daniels is tired of feeling invisible.

After Hadley’s best friend moves away and she gets on the bad side of some girls at school, she goes to spend the summer with her grandparents in the Lake Michigan resort town of Grand Haven. Her next door neighbor is none other than teen TV star Simone Hendrickson, who is everything Hadley longs to be—pretty, popular, and famous—and she’s thrilled when Simone treats her like a friend.

Being popular is a lot harder than it looks.

It’s fun and flattering when Simone includes her in her circle, though Hadley is puzzled about why her new friend refuses to discuss her former Hollywood life. Caught up with Simone, Hadley finds herself ignoring her quiet, steadfast friend, Charlotte.

To make things even more complicated, along comes Nick Jenkins…

He’s sweet, good-looking, and Hadley can be herself around him without all the fake drama. However, the mean girls have other ideas and they fill Nick’s head with lies about Hadley, sending him running back to his ex-girlfriend and leaving Hadley heartbroken.

So when her parents decide to relocate to Grand Haven, Hadley hopes things will change when school starts…only to be disappointed once again.

Love gone bad.

Is this really what it’s like to live… Next Door To A Star?

New Release Spotlight:Three Western Novellas from Faith Blum's Hymns ofthe West Series

What could be better on a chilly evening than sitting in front of a fire with a good book in your hands? Yes, I know it’s still August and in most places in the US probably pretty warm, but sending the kids back to school means fall is coming. And with fall comes falling temperatures. So why not plan ahead for those chilly evenings? Today's guest is a young writer from a Midwestern farm who gives us stories from the Old West. Faith Blum is a fellow Clean Indie Reads author who has managed to write and publish several books in her Hymns of the West series in her short life. When I was her age self-publishing was not a respectable option and writers depended on the traditional publishing system to get their work out. Today, access to the tools of publishing and to readers allows authors of any age to publish and market their work. Faith's latest offerings are three wholesome, clean, entertaining, romantic, and historical novellas, the perfect length for a short read. Be sure to read to the end of this post to enter a fun giveaway and find out about her free book offer!

Mom and Dad dead STOP Please come STOP Gage

When his sister dies, leaving him with four children ages 8 and under, Cole Baxter gets desperate. He decides he needs a wife. He writes to a mail order bride before realizing he almost threw away the best woman he could have.  (Approximately 18,000 words)

Timothy is at his wit's end. His twelve year old half-sister has run off five housekeepers in almost a year. Since their parents died, she has grown wilder than ever. What can he do? As he looks for a new housekeeper, his eye catches sight of a mail order bride advertisement. One young lady has a younger sister and sounds like a God-fearing woman. Could this be the answer to his dilemma or will Louise run her off, too?  (Approximately 18,000 words)

Mail Order bride seeks wealthy Western man. Write Mona Sommers, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Alexander Granger is tired of his father’s lectures and sermons. It’s time for payback. His plan is to pretend to marry a woman and scandalize his father when he finds out they aren’t really married. Will Mona accept his offer? Can Alex get away with his plan? (Approximately 14,000 words.)

How much do you read? Which genres?
I usually read 100-150 books every year. Per week or month depends on what is happening. I’ve slowed down on my reading lately, but I’m also doing a lot of writing and editing. Books about writing, historical fiction, westerns, some contemporary fiction, and a little fantasy and science fiction are the genres I typically read.

How have the changes in present day publishing impacted your writing career?
Self-publishing is possible and fairly simple. If it were not, I probably wouldn’t be published. As much as I like writing, I don’t think I could handle being traditionally published.

What would you do if you couldn’t write anymore?
I hope that never happens. Probably try to play piano for people somewhere, somehow.

New Release Spotlight: Marc Secchia's Fantasy Romance "Dragonlove," Book 2 in the Dragonfriend Series

For love that is tested in the crucible of fate must burn, or die...

Publication Date: August 15, 2015
Genre: Fantasy Romance
Series: Dragonfriend #2

When a woman loves a Dragon, that love will change the world.

Six years have passed since Hualiama and Grandion defied the Island-World’s most sacred law. They burned the heavens together as Rider and Dragon. For his crime, Grandion the Tourmaline Dragon suffered exile and imprisonment. The Dragons forced Hualiama to forget her past.

Now, the suns must set upon the age of the Ancient Dragons. Amaryllion Fireborn, last of his kind, bequeaths Hualiama an astonishing legacy. She is the Dragonfriend. Raised by Dragons. Burned by Dragon fire. Oath-bound to a Dragon. Crossing the Island-World in search of her Dragonlove, she will forge an indelible mark upon history.

As war between Dragons and Humans engulfs the Islands, Hualiama must unravel the secrets of her tragic past in order to confront an evil that threatens the very existence of the Dragonkind. For love that is tested in the crucible of fate must burn, or die.

There was no silence as profound as the space between Islands, no vault as large as the moons-lit sky, hoarding its treasury of stars, nor a loneliness as soul-shadowing as the loss of betrayal. This Hualiama knew as she piloted her Dragonship away from Fra’anior Cluster. She could not sleep. Instead, she searched the emptiness with the eyes of her heart, longing for a glimmer of moonlight upon gemstone scales, for a sign that all was not dust blown into the Cloudlands.
Flicker. Amaryllion. Masters Jo’el and Khoyal. The long-dead face of her Nuyallith tutor, his knowledge lodged in her mind, unforgettable. Sometimes, she felt as though she carried more ghosts than living flesh upon her diminutive frame. She yearned for her spirit to abandon what the ballads called her mortal coil, to roam the Island-World upon wings less substantial than the wind itself; faraway, flyaway, free.
If she listened with the ears of her sixth sense, tasting and experiencing the tides and times of the Island-World, could she not rediscover that bond she had felt between herself and the Tourmaline Dragon, and sing the melody of souls united by oaths stronger than death?
Softly, she poured her heart forth in tuneful lament:
O my Dragon, I search for thee,
My spirit flying far and free,
I call to thee, Grandion; I beg, I burn,
Wilt thou not hear?
Wind keened among the inner hawsers binding spirit to flesh, and flesh to bone. Lia felt a sense of straining, perhaps the Dragon fire of Flicker’s gift bound in the form of a Human. Her hands played upon the controls as in a dream, setting a south-westerly course for Erigar Island. The sails were fully deployed to gobble up a bellyful of the night breeze. The stove burned cheerfully. She topped it up with a few chips of dry jalkwood.
A dream seemed to creep over her, a darkness deeper even than the night.
A Dragon lay in his lair.
Nay, not a lair, but a cage of indestructible Dragon bone, bound with bands of magic-infused iron. The Dragon shifted restlessly, as if gripped by dreams of his own–or touched by hers. Anger had long since guttered into grief. Hope lay crushed beneath a burden of despair. The Dragon circled his cage one more time, dragging his steps, and no light of the Island-World entered his eyes. He was blind.

Pre-order on Amazon. Available August 15th.
